Watering trees

• It's important to remember that while water is the most significant thing you can give a tree, we must not water our plants and trees too often. A plant's roots need to breathe air, too, as roots that are always wet will rot or get fungal diseases. More on that later÷now, hereÌs how to put the water on.
• Place your garden hose about 6" from the base of the trunk (on the high side if you've planted on a slope). Set the water flow at a slow trickle -- enough to fill a milk jug in six minutes. This is about ten gallons per hour. Leave this on each tree for about two hours, then move on to the next one.

Mormon difficulties with the federal government about polygamy did not end until the Mormon Church renounced the practice in 1890, six years before Utah became a state. Rich in natural resources, Utah has long been a leading producer of copper, gold, silver, lead, zinc, and molybdenum. Oil has also become a major product. Utah shares rich oil shale deposits with Colorado and Wyoming. Utah also has large deposits of low sulphur coal.
